Im travelling to Costa Rica in July and im getting confused with what the weather might be like.
I understand that July is in the 'green season' as opposed to the 'tourist season', and so i should expect rain, but is it rain as in the Amazon where it rains for 40 minutes then stops, or is it rain as in London which last for 7 hours?
Some websites i have read say that the weather is worst (rain wise) in September and October, so is July just the build up?

Re: Weather in Costa Rica in July?
Hi Sara,
Thanks for your question.
Costa Rica enjoys temperate temperatures year-round with the average daily temperature around the 25 degrees celcius mark.
The rainy season is from May to November typically so does include July but that doesn't mean that you are likely to encounter rain every day in July and if you're really lucky you might away with very little.
It's very much more like the tropical rain than drizzly European rain if that makes sense? More often than not there will be a downpour followed by further sunshine.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
Re: Weather in Costa Rica in July?
Hi Sara!
The rainy season has started in Costa Rica and it will for sure rain on the trip in July. Most of the time it is nice weather in the morning and it start raining in the afternoon. We also have days with no rain at all or just a short shower. I just finished a 3 week trip with no rain at all. On your trip you will be visiting both the Caribbean and the Pacific coast and it might rain on one side and not on the other. For sure up in the cloud forest in Monteverde it will be rain. Still Costa Rica is nice, warm and beautiful with lots of sun. So bring a rain poncho, hat, lots of sunblock and good humor and you will have a great trip.
