Hi, I'm booked on the Bangkok to Singapore trip starting on the 15th January. Anyone else here doing that trip???
To anyone who's been on this trip before, I would LOVE to hear anything about it.
Eg:/What were hotels like?, what were activities/site-seeing like? train trip?, ANYTHING!!!

HI, I did this trip starting January 2 2003. It was great. I know the itinerary is the same. I'm trying to get in contact with the tour leader I had (Christy Houston) as am going back for xmas and new year on dec 18 this year.
There were only 5 of us, plus Christy, when I went. That was 2 couples, and me! Nice! One couple was Dutch and spoke broken English. They were in their 40s and kept to themselves. The other 2 girls were great, but did their own thing a lot of the time. I had no problem like this when I went trucking in Africa in 2001 as there were so many of us!
Anyway, all the places you stay are great. The area in Singapore is great, I thought. Nice and central and the reps are really helpful with what to do. I'd do the Raffles hotel and have a Singapore SLing, and the shops on Orchard Road are exciting and not all are stupid prices. The Little India Guest House is great and I would go back there. When I was there, it was their festival where they stick things through their skin and walk 2 miles round the city. Very exciting, if a bit gross!
Don't be tempted by the cheap DVD and CD prices in Bangkok - wait till KL where you can get them for 80p ish. NOt all are great quality, but most are. I got heaps and only a couple didn't work. A good idea is to take an empty postable CD carrier, and put them all in there - less bulky, and safer for them.
Lots of great shops if that's what you like. The beaches at Krabi are great - I'll be in Krabi from about the 3rd January so might see you there! Let me know who your rep is too! Take the boat trip to Ko Phi Phi and Bamboo Island - heaven!!
