Want to take part in this IT trip in November 2002. Has anyone experience with buying a bicycle in Bangkok and selling it in Ho Chi Minh City. Needn't be a hightech bike - what about the ones local people use? I used to ... and am therefore used robust an heavy bikes.

Regarding last years bike trip from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City all of the participants brought their own bikes with them. Most airlines will carry bikes or any sporting equipment for free (as long as you inform them in advance). If you'd like to buy a bike you can pick up a decent bike in the Chinatown area of Bangkok and expect to pay anything from

I was on the trip in November and it was wonderful. The man from England was going to leave his bike in Vietnam if he had to pay to take it on the plane. He wasn't charged to take it, so the bike went back to England.
