Hi,

All the travel health websites say that malaria risk is minimal in Thailand except near the borders. Does the northern adventure hilltribe trek go far enough north of Chiang Mai to enter the malaria risk area?

Thanks, Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your post. We understand it can be difficult to decide if you are going into malaria risk areas if you don't know exact details of the trek.

I have checked this out for you and the Northern Adventure goes just north of Chiang Mai to the Mae Taeng River.

The malarial areas are along the northern borders with Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. We do not travel anywhere near these areas on our tours.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,
Kelly

Malaria at Maetaman Elephant camp

Hi,

I'm wondering if you know what the malaria risk is just north of Chiang Mai, at Kuet Chang, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai 50180, Thailand?
