Hi everyone,
I'm working way in advance here as i've booked the above trip for 2008!! however, i'm travelling by myself so i'm just wondering if anyone else has travelled alone and can let me know how you got on as it's now sinking in that i'll be on my lonesome.
Any comments would be appreciated.
thanks.

Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hi Kezza,
There's absolutely nothing to worry about and loads of our travellers take part in tours on their own as they are just such a good way to tour a new country on your own. All the tours that I have done have been on my own and you'll be amazed just how quickly you get to know the others on your tour.
Regards,
Brendan

Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hey Kezza, I'm looking to do this tour in 2008 as well. Probably either the January or February one. Have you signed up for a date yet? I'll be traveling solo.
Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hiya,
Yeh i'm doing it in November - it's said to be the best time to visit as it's not the raining season etc. Let me know if you're doing the same one and if not we'll have to keep in touch and exchange packing needs etc!
Re: Elephants and Adventure
I'm doing the December '07 trip! I can't wait!!
Re: Elephants and Adventure
I have a question for you, obviously this tour is 3 weeks, would you suggest staying on for another week or will the three be plenty to see everything? Hope i've replied in the right way???

Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hi.
I've just come back from this tour, and it is absolutely amazing.
The week at the Elephant Nature Park is a very special time, and despite the physical work you do, I found one week not long enough.
I had a couple of extra days at Ao Nang at the end of the tour, (by this time you appreciate the relaxing and restful end to the tour)and I could have spent longer.
Have fun and I hope your time is as memorable as ours was! (our group consisted of 7 individual travellers, and by the end of the 1st week we were a well established team- not only in the way we worked but through friendship as well).
Just note now there is no departure tax needs to be paid at the airport.

Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hi,
Has anyone done this trip and had an Internal flight from Krabi to Bangkok to then get their Internation flight home.
e.g. my Internal flight get's me in to Bangkok at 11:30hrs and my flight home is at 13:20hrs, i'm a bit worried about whether it's a bit tight.
I'd appreciate to advice from someone who has done this in the past?
Cheers,
Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hi,
I wouldn't worry. I'm on the same trip starting 25/10 and at the end of the trip I fly into Bangkok at 11.30 and leave Bangkok at 13.45. To save yourself some stress you should go to the departure gate as soon as you know which gate it is, the new airport at Bangkok is huge an it can take time to get through the security checks they have just before the gates. If your flight from Krabi should be delayed ask them to contact the airline that your flying from Bangkok with, if its the same airline theres even less to worry about ... I have travelled through Bangkok before and had as little as an hour between flights ..
Re: Elephants and Adventure
Hi,
If your flying into and out of the same airport then you should be fine as mentioned in the above post. However if your internal flight is going into the old Bangkok airport Don Muang and your international is from the new airport Suvnnabhumi then you would need a 3/4 hour gap between the airports.
So its worth checking whcih airports you're flying into and out of.
Cheers
Re: Elephants and Adventure
Yes I forgot that there are now two airports. My advice was based on both flights being to/from the Suvarnabhumi International airport ...
