Hello
I am heading off to Cambodia in August on the Saigon to Bangkok trip. I have been on the fco website which states that cambodian visas are available at the border with vietnam.
Has anyone got a cambodian visa this way or have encountered any problems getting a visa at the border.
Any advice would be appreciated
Katherine

Re: Getting a cambodia visa at the border
Hi Katherine,
We've always got our visas before travelling as the rules for issuing visas can change with little or no warning. I couldn't think of anything worse than standing at the border and not being able to get in to Cambodia. It is a truly amazing country and one not to be missed. The people are so friendly and wlecoming despite their recent history.
Hope this helps,
Russell
Re: Getting a cambodia visa at the border
Visas are required by all nationalities.
As regulations change frequently we strongly advise you to obtain your visa in advance, however visas can usually also be obtained at the border. As all of our tours in Cambodia begin in either Thailand or Vietnam the detailed information given here refers to obtaining visas at the border crossings rather than at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap International Airports. A 30 day Cambodian visa obtained at the Thai/Cambodia or vietnam/Cambodia border crossings costs between US$20 and US$30. The fee should be paid in the currency of the country you are entering from (i.e. Thai Baht or Vietnamese Dong). You will also need to provide a passport photo. Although it is possible to purchase a visa with US dollars your fee is likely to be exchanged into the local currency at a poor rate.
It is also possible to obtain your visa in advance in Bangkok or Saigon if you are arriving at least one day before the start of the tour.
Please note: Visa regulations can change at very short notice. If you intend to obtain a Cambodian visa on arrival (or in Bangkok or Saigon) it is very important that you contact your nearest Cambodian Embassy or Consulate for up to date information shortly before you travel.

Hi Katherine,
I'm also having the same thoughts as yourself. I have contacted the Cambodian embassy in Germany to find out more info, because the web page is a bit confusing as to how much it costs etc. Once I have a response I'll pass it on. Cheers, Paula
Re: Getting a cambodia visa at the border
Hi Katherine,
Still no joy from the Cambodian Embassy in Germany. I called one of these consular services agencies in London, but they said that they don't do Cambodian Visas because you can get them at the border, and he wouldn't even let me explain that I was concerned about the rules changing. There was another called Thames Consular, who advertise Camodian Visas on their website, but the cost is

Hi Paula
There is a cambodian embassy in the UK its website is http://www.cambodianembassy.org.uk/
Unfortunatly the visa details aren't very clear but there is a visa form on the website that you can print off. The cost of the visa is $20 and they want payment in dollers.
I would be interested to know if anyone has used the UK Cambodia embassy to get their visa as it would certainly be a lot cheaper then getting an agency to do it!
Re: Getting a cambodia visa at the border
Indeed that is also an option.
The Kingdom of Cambodia has recently opened an Embassy in the UK. They can be contacted at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, Wellington Building, 28-32 Wellington Road, St John
