Hi,

I'm sure that there will be plenty of local places to eat and drink when you arrive. The hotel will even be able to suggest a few good local places for you.

Hopefully someone on here might have a few suggestions for you too!

There are many great places to eat. My personal favourite was the cyclo restaurant ... you get to enjot the great French cuisine whilst sitting back and relaxing in the cyclo carts you see zooming around the city. Not too far from where your hotel is either.

If you don't take up this recommendation, you won't do bad though as Hanoi is blessed with numerous great restaurants.

Come out of the hotel, turn right and walk about 3 or 4 blocks down the street.
You should come to a busy roundabout (without any sign of the actual roundabout but people driving around like maniacs).
Across this interchange there will be a building infront of you 5 or so storeys high. At the top of this is a restaurant that does beautiful food. It also overlooks the big lake that i forget the name of.

Ooh- I am going to Hanoi in November so I will bear those places in mind when I go!!
