Beware!! Hanoi transfers won't necessarily leave you at the right hotel!
We got to Hanoi after 21 hours travelling, and were left with another couple at a hotel. Turns out we were on different tours, they were in the right place, we weren't and the minibus had cleared off! Luckily the hotel managed to get us a taxi and our tour leader refunded the cost but the moment of panic at being in the chaos of Hanoi late at night and not knowing where you are wasn't the greatest..... also having paid for a transfer to our hotel, we assumed we would be left at the right hotel.
It all worked out in the end but just a warning to others, check you are in the right place before the bus leaves!
Also we were not the only ones this had happened to, that is why I thought I should bring it up if it hasn't been already.

Thanks for your posts, but sorry to hear about the hassle you had with your transfer.
Our Operations team would be interested to know what tour and departure you were on, plus your name and/or reference number so that they can properly check into what may have gone wrong for your transfer.
It certainly should not be the case that you get taken to the wrong hotel, especially as you say if it is late and you are tired from a long journey.

Future travellers please be assured this is not the norm and is something that we would want to look into and rectify so that future arrivals in Hanoi will run smoothly and problem free.

Thanks for your email - I am pleased that you thought that overall the tour was excellent and that you had a great time in Vietnam.
With regards to the transfer problem, I will pass on the details straightaway so we can look at why this happened, as we do not want to be dropping customers off at different hotels to where they should be!
