Is there anyone out there who's been to Laos in August? We're really keen on the Magical Laos trip but my husband's a teacher and the only time we can go is July/August. We're a bit concerned that the monsoon rains would have a detrimental effect on the trip. If anyone has any advice or opinions, we'd be glad to hear them!

July/August is probably one of the best time to visit Lao. The rainfall during the moonsoon makes everything lush and green, and this is also the time of the year,the rice is being grown, making the countryside look even better. Even though it rains a lot, you could be lucky, and not get much rain at all during the day. Rain while travelling not much of an issue,and a bit of it while sightseeing is not that bad either, as long as you pack a poncho. Since this is not a beach holiday, a bit of rain should not put you off.
