what a bunch of wimps.
let's not travel anywhere.
don't go to Asia, you may get flu
don't go to the middle east, people there may be nasty to you because your army has invaded Iraq.
don't use the subway, it's polluted
don't fly, the plane may crash or be hijacked.
don't walk, you may get mugged
don't go by boat, it may sink
just stay at home, watch your TV and whine on and on about how it is not safe to go anywhere.
Be careful though, your house may collapse.

After the bickering going on in the China forum, I needed a good laugh. Thanks for providing a humorous perspective.

Right On Pete!
You only get one life (except if you're a Buddhist and then if you come back you're not a very good one!) so go out there and experience what is after all a big, scary but amazing world.
Have a fun weekend everyone
Re: let's stay home
Dearest Peter,
Your attitude is very arrogant. This is, after all, a forum where travellers want opinions from other travellers. Don't get me wrong, I think your attitude about traveling is great but how you expressed your opinions were not - not gentlemanly at all! I have traveled far and wide, and traveled when planes were crashing, weather not being co-operative,etc. I finally decided to give Img Traveller a try because of their "responsible travel policy". Why I cancelled my first adventure group tour was not because I was "scared" or being a "wimp" but because of being a responsible traveller, especially to remote areas. Also, gosh, darn me and other travellers for having caring family and friends and take their "loving" advices so they would not have to worry about us on our travels. Travelling should be fun and worry free! To all those who are continuing with their travel plans, I hope you have a wonderful time.
