Does anyone know whether the malaria risk in Vietnam is high enough to require anti-malarials?
Three of us are doing the Vietnam Highlights tour on March 11. We're going to do some trekking in Sapa before meeting up with the tour, and probably spend some extra time in the Mekong Delta afterwards.
One of my friends has decided to take Malarone, but I'd rather not take anything I don't have to.
Any advice or feedback from anyone who's done the tour, or travelled around that area?
I've already tried the travel clinic, but the two doctors there disagree!

Re: malaria in vietnam?
Hello.
Sorry we do not give out medical advice concerning vaccinations etc. I see that you have already contacted your doctor.
Advice does often overlap.
What is important is that you form a well-grounded opinion prior to travelling.
Take some good mosquito repellent too. This should contain a good percentage of deet, however you may prefer a herbal alternative.
