travelling in jan/feb:
is a net advisable for trips in cambodia/vietnam? do we need insect spray?
is malaria prophylaxis required for either or both countries?
what is temperature at night? (do we need sleeping bags/warm clothes)
is it better to bring cheques/currency in US dollars or is sterling ok?

Re: mosquito net
Hello Jaxer,
Thank you for your post. We don't recommend a mosquito net as a necessary requirement for our trips in Vietnam and Cambodia, however if you wanted to bring one with you then you would be welcome to do so.
While we recommend that you use a good insect repellent, we are unable to advise on malaria prophylaxis, as we are not medical professionals. The best thing for you to do would be consult your nearest travel health clinic, some GPs are able to advise, or you could do a search for your destination on the CDC website: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/regionalmalaria/index.htm
Temperatures in Vietnam and Cambodia during January and February should be hot and humid. Even at night it will probably still be quite warm, however if you are worried about it a light jacket or jumper should not take up much room in your luggage. You can download country weather guides from this BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/country_guides/index.shtml?country_guide
For advice on taking a sleeping bag, please see you trip dossier, downloadable from www.imaginative-traveller.com/downloads . The trip dossier will tell you if we recommend a sleeping bag for your tour.
You will be able to exchange either USD or GBP to local currency, however it is generally better to take USD with you as it is more widely used and recognised.
I hope this helps, have a fantastic time!
