We are going on the Thai Jungle Safari departing the second week in Feb. For the trek near Chiang Mai, will a sleep sheet do at night? Can we expect it to be hot or cool during the day? Will we need warm clothes for night? Bob and Rita

Re: Thai Jungle Safari

Hi Bob and Rita,
Yes, it is winter here now and it is glorious weather now, especially here in Bangkok.

On the Thai Jungle Safari you'll be trekking in the Mae Hong Son area. This place is beautiful beyond speech. In February (the end of winter) it will still be a little cold at night, but no problems we can rent sleeping bags before the trek begins, and there are generally no shortage of blankets getting around. The bamboo rafting may get a bit chilly, but no more than say rafting in the Ganges during winter and you'll get less wet! If the weather is too cold and miserable (which in my experience around Mae Hong Son is very rare) I'm sure the tour leader will think of an imaginative alternative. You will probably need a fleece or jumper, and bring your own sleeping bag or rent one here. Either way you are going to love it! The area has absolutely magnificent scenery and the people unforgettable. Look forward to seeing you in February
