Re: Thailand Encompassed
Hi there,
I'm not going on your trip but I hope I can help with some info.
Looking at the trip map my guess is that malaria tablets would be the go, but check with your doctor or an on-line travel medical site. Chloroquine is no use for Thailand you will need doxycycline if you need anything. October in the mountains it might get a bit chilly at night but day time temps in Thailand are usually not a problem. Your predeparture booklet should give you the info about the clothes and gear you will need.
Dunno if that helps, but we are off to Cambodia with Imtrav next week and can't wait. Thailand is an AMAZING country.
Enjoy

Hi Irish Girl
Thanks for your post.
For up to date medical advice, you'd really need to contact either your local doctor, or a travel health specialist such as MASTA (www.masta.org).
If you click on the link below, you can access our pre-departure information, which contains lots of useful information about what to take with you.

There's a whole variety of noodle dishes out there for you to try, so you should be fine, whatever your dietary requirements!
I hope that this helps. Enjoy Thailand!

If you a are based in town then there is the tropical medicine bureau near behind the Royal College of Surgeons in what used to be Mercers Hospital. I have used a doctor out in Lucan for the last few times but your GP will also be able to recommend a colleague if yours does not do travel vacs.
enjoy your trip!!
