Thailand Travel money and Malaria

hi can anybody tell me the best option for travel money in Thailand.I am booked on the Best of Thailand tour 24th sept 2005. are there plenty of visa machines around? or maybe travellers cheques are a better option?

Also Have been advised by my GP that Thailand is now considered a low risk area for malaria and the only precautions i need to take is a good repellant and cover up in evenings is this correct?
