train to Singapore from Krabi

I'm doing the Indochina adventure on 30 may, ending in Krabi on 5 July. I'm then hoping to get the train to Singapore which originates from Bangkok. Is it possible to catch a train nearer to Krabi rather than returning to Bangkok?

Hi,

I just returned from Thailand/Malaysia and got a train to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur. I am pretty sure that you can pick up the train in Surat Thani, cross into Malaysia at Kota Bahru and then continue onto KL and Singapore from there.

You will come down to Surat Thani on the sleeper from Bangkok as part of your tour, so you can simply take the bus back and pick up the train again.

The scenery on the train journey was amazing, and much more enjoyable than taking the bus.
