I'll be going on the Vietnam Explorer tour on March 12th. I was hoping to get more details on the Hill Tribe trek portion. More specifically, what sort of trails will we be hiking on? Rugged single track, smooth dirt road, making our own trail through jungle? I'm just trying to avoid bringing actual light weight hiking boots and use nice running shoes with a good tread instead. I'd like to keep my luggage lean and light :-)
Thanks, Steve

Re: Vietnam Explorer Hill Tribe Trek
Hello,
Here is an extract from the trip dossier which you can download from our website.
1) The mountains and valleys of Hoa Binh Province offer spectacular scenery, clear air and fascinating hilltribe villages. The trek is graded B - moderate, and consists of a combination of walking and moderate hiking, usually between 4 - 7 hours per day.
2) For the most part, we walk along established tracks used by local people and the trek is lead throughout by a qualified guide.
3) We also recommend that you bring hiking boots with ankle support as footing can be treacherous.
Although we do recommend boots the trek is along established tracks. Something to think about regarding footwear. Perhaps leave your "nice" trainers and take some good boots and sandals.
