While you can often obtain visas at the border, we do recommend that you get one beforehand. Visa and border regulations in this part of the world can sometimes change quite frequently, and with little notice, and so to guarantee that you will be able to enter the country, it's best to apply for your visa before going.
I hope that this helps. Have a great trip!!

Re: Visa for Cambodia
Dirk,
I'm off to Cambodia in three weeks and decided to get my Visa before I left the UK. I used a French company website: www.action-visas.com. Their website is in French, but I managed to understand it with my basic language skills, and when I phoned them they had someone who could speak English, who was happy to explain things to me. The service, visa and return postage cost me 53 euros (visa is 25 euros) and having sent my passport off on 27/05/03, I received it back today, 16/06/03. I've been really happy with the service, and felt the cost quite reasonable. Hope this is helpful to you, enjoy your trip! Sue

Re: Visa for Cambodia
Hi Jim, The brochure and dossier says to get the visa in advance. And the country dossier says we can get it on the border So, as Dirk asked, is it possible, as per the country dossier, to get the visa on the border? And if it's not why the confusion? Thks

Re: Visa for Cambodia
Hi Kim
Thanks for your post.
I would advise that it is usually possible to get the visa at the border. However, this cannot be guaranteed, as regulations have been known to change quickly, and with little notice. It's for this reason that we recommend you to get the visa beforehand. Although unlikely, if the visa regulations changed after our travellers had departed for Cambodia, this could have a very adverse effect upon your trip, and so to play it safe, we recommend that you obtain it in advance.
However, at the time of writing it's possible to get visas at the border, although we can obviously offer no guarantees that this will always be the case.
We've now amended our dossiers so that they all give this advice.
I hope that this clarifies the issue.

Hi,
Thanks for all the information. I also found some information on http://www.cambodia-travel.com/information/cambodia-visa.htm. Also some frinds of my told me that it's easy to get a visa on the Cambodian Border or in Vietnam. I'm not going to apply for a visa in Paris and take my chances in Saigon or at the Cambodian Border. Still 4 more week to my departure but I can't wait to get out there.
