Hi, travelled with Imag.Traveller last year to the Sichuan province in China-absolutely amazing three weeks- Jane, our tour leader, was fabulous.
I am due to do the South East Asia explorer tour on June 21 and was wondering if anybody could provide some information regarding visas for Laos and Cambodia. It appears that these visas are really expensive to obtain from Ireland. Can they be obtained while we are in transit on the tour maybe or are there any visa processing services in this side of the world.
I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
James.

I also live in Ireland and travel on an Irish passport. I have used both Trailfinders Visa services via the office in Dublin and also Travcour in London for Visa services for Vietnam and China and the Middle East in the past. Both of them are effiecint and take about 2 weeks from posting until delivery plus any time in the embassies. Fees were in STG. and worked out about
Re: Visas for South-East Asia
David,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I'll talk to Trailfinders here in Dublin to see if they can get me organised. Again many thanks.
Re: Visas for South-East Asia
James, we sent our documents etc to Travcour who do not wish to deal with the Laos Embassy in Paris because the staff there are useless. Therefore, Im.Trav. did a check for us with their man on the ground in S.E.Asia. Result is that as we are going into Laos overland, we are getting our visas at the Thai/Laos border crossing, for $30 dollars each and with two passport sized photos. Double check with Im.Trav. because it seems that the Laos government changes the rules from time to time.
Re: Visas for South-East Asia
Thanks a lot, Margaret, for your advice. Visa for Laos would cost around
Re: Visas for South-East Asia
Any word on Cambodian visas? We heard that we can get them at the border crossing, but we want to make sure. We are US citizens.
Incidentally, we got our Vietnamese visas directly from the consulate in San Francisco, and they were extremely quick -- the visas were sent back the same day they received our applications, and the charge was about half of what a visa service would charge (but still not cheap at $65/person).
