I want to do a trip to Cambodia...my problem is timing. I can't go Dec, Jan, feb, Sept, or Oct due to work commitments. I've got family commitments in April, May, June, July and November so...that leave doesn't leave many options. Is it horribly miserably hot and wet in August? Would I be better off ditching my family in November?

Re: Weather... August
Hi Ballu,
Thanks for your post on the traveller forums.
You didn't mention March in your question - is this free or suitable for you? That's not a bad month to visit Cambodia in terms of the weather although it will already be getting hot at that time of year (November to February being the coolest period, but still warm throughout).
August is in the wet season, with September seeing the worst of the weather normally. It's not normally too bad in August with short heavy downpours followed by long periods of sunshine and hot weather, not the hottest month, but hot none-the-less.
So to summarise, November would be the best month for you to travel to Cambodia in terms of cooler and drier weather but our tours run there all year round and you shouldn't let the weather put you off too much whenever you travel because it's a hot country throughout the year and the rain isn't normally so bad as to spoil the enjoyment that our travellers have whilst on tour there.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
Re: Weather... August
To translate Ballu, I think Brendan is suggesting 'ditch' the family and enjoy your holiday!!

Re: Weather... August
I wasn't going to say it literally like that...
