Hi,
I am booked on the tour starting 17 December, travelling alone and arriving at 7am. The dossier says the intro briefing probably won't happen until day 2 so I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to expect/do on my first day?
Is there anything I could plan that I won't feel too tired (or daunted!) to do on my own? Might there be any info when I arrive about how to make contact with other group members who might be in the same boat as me, or any chance the briefing might happen earlier?
Also, since I am travelling alone I'm expecting to share a room with someone I don't know. Are they just going to turn up while I am in the shower or what??

Thanks for your post.
When you arrive at the hotel in Bangkok there will be a notice in the lobby from your tour leader confirming what time the group will be meeting, so keep an eye out for this.
Then, of course, you will have time to sort yourself out and explore some of Bangkok on your own! Bangkok is a really easy city to do this as there is a great public transport system and also lots of tuk-tuks and taxis. As with any city though, use common sense when in the touristy areas - for example don't get in a tuk tuk that will try and take you on a day long tour of the city of you just want to go to the Grand Palace!
At some point in the day the girl that you are sharing with will also check into your room, so I suppose it is possible you may be in the shower! Unlikely though![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
It may work out that she will arrive at a similar time to you and then you can explore Bangkok together...
