Athens to Istanbul

Hello! Anyone out there going on this tour starting in Athens on July 30th??

Also, has anyone been on this tour previously and can offer some advice/tips? Any recommendations for places to stay in Istanbul after the tour ends?

The Albion Hotel is a good place to stay after the tour. It's very centrally located and staff are helpful. We walked around the backpacker area close by and found some places cheaper but decided to stay on at the Albion. You could have a look for yourself on arrival - there was no shortage of rooms in May when we arrived or at the end of June when we returned to Istanbul after touring Turkey on our own.

Thanks for the tip. I will be traveling alone and am thus apprehensive about not making arrangements for accomodation prior to departure. (I got stuck without a place to stay in New Zealand once during high season and I would like to avoid re-living that at all costs!)

Can you offer any recommendations for things to see in Istanbul that are not listed in the tour?

Also, did you go to Cappadocia? It is not on the tour but I was considering going there (day or 2 day trip), as I hear it is a place in Turkey that is not to be missed. Your thoughts on this topic are much appreciated. Thanks again!
