I am considering going on the east and west Turkey tour next summer. The itinerary looks great but I am concerned about the long bus rides and no "facilities". My bladder has seen younger years. Has anyone gone on that tour and can they fill me in on the long drives, how much endurance this trip really takes and what is the availablility of "facilities".
I really am excited about this trip but want to be prepared.
Thanks
Bonnie

Re: East and West in Turkey
I did the East/West trip 2 years ago and it was great! There are some lengthy bus rides, but the driver stops at least every hour for tea/bathroom breaks and I never had a problem asking them to stop earlier if I needed it. Turkey was amazing and this itinerary allows you to see just about everything. Hope that helps!
Re: East and West in Turkey
Thanks so much for the information! I was worried about that but I think you relieved my mind. Would it be too much trouble to ask you a couple more questions since you have actually been on that trip? If it is ok, here are my questions:
Are the hotels clean? Simple is fine, but clean we need.
Are they air conditioned?
We are going in June. Is that hot or mild? I am in Southern California, USA so I'm not used to extreme temperatures. I need to be prepared.
Are the hotels centrally located to the town to minimize traveling to and from out of town to down town?
Thank you so much for your response I really appreciate getting first hand knowledge.

Re: East and West in Turkey
Hi Bonnie,
the hotels we use in Northern and Eastern Turkey ar sipmple but clean with facilites.
Most of the hotels are not airconditioned. They have AC where needeed.South Esatern part of the country is about 28-32 in June and in that region hotels have airconditions. The rest of the country has got mild tempartures around that time.
All hotels we have are centrally located and most of the towns are small towns anyway.

Thanks so much for the information. We think we will be going on the Best of East and West and maybe add on a blue cruise at the end. I appreciate your response and may have more posts before we actually go.
Thanks again
