I am going to spend two weeks in Turkey in August. I don't want to visit any crowded place, so I have decided to travel around the North and East (the area between Ankara and Trabzon --I don't remember the names of the places right now-- and then the area between Trabzon and Van (near the Armenian border). I don't know how difficult is to move around in public transport in this areas and I would like to know if it is dangerous the area around Van (it is an area of Armenian and Kurdish influence). I would even consider the posibility of renting a car during part of the trip, but I don't know how is driving in those areas or if the price is affordable.
