Hi,

I am looking to join the Istanbul to Cario tour next summer. I was just wondering if anyone has been on this trip and what your opinion of it was? I have never been on a tour before - always liked travelling on my own - but I don't feel safe enough going to the Middle East by myself. Was the trip value for money?

Cheers!

Istanbul to Cairo

We took this tour 2 years ago and I loved it. We had also never been on a tour before. We started in late March. Weather in Istanbul was quite cool (actually cold) at that time. If you are going in the summer I am sure you will find it quite hot, especially in Egypt. Everyone made comments about going to Syria but it was the safest and most welcoming country on the tour. We did get a little tired of traveling by public bus because we had to wait around for them and hope that they would have room for the whole group. In Jordan and Egypt we used more prearranged buses and vans. There is a quite a bit of time when you can do your own thing. We love museums so we went with a list. While others were climbing hillsides we were improving our minds.
