Hi!
I'm on the 22Aug - 5 Sep Crossroads of Civilisation tour, and then plan to travel independently on to Greece. Can someone tell me the best way to get from Istanbul to Kalambaka (presumably via Thessaloniki) and whether I'd need to book in advance. Some idea of how long it'd take and costs would also be much appreciated.
Thanks,Nichole

Re: Istanbul - Greece
Dear Nichole,
There are daily trains from Istanbul to Athens via ,Thesaloniki and 2 buses a week(Tuesdays and Fridays)again via Thesaloniki it takes about 20 hrs to Saloniki.
The problem in Greece ,the puclic transportation is not really good so to go to Kalambaka you may need to wait a day to go to saloniki(Same from Athens).
Cheers,
Yavuz
