I'm booked for the Jewels of Turkey Tour on October 14, 2002. I'm travelling by myself and would like to hear from anyone else who is booked for this same trip.
I was also wondering what the temperatures are that time of year in Western Turkey. I'd like to know what kind of clothes to pack.

The temperature in October is generally really pleasant but nights especially in Central Anatolia(Cappadocia-Konya) will be cool. So better to pack some warm clothes for those cool nights and you may need a rain coat as well.

I'm trying to figure out what is the best means of bringing currency with me.
Should I bring Turkish Lira in cash or should I bring American Travellers Cheques?
The banks and currency exchanges over here in Canada don't carry much Turkish Lira and are suggesting I take American cash or Travellers cheques and exchange it when I get over to Turkey.
Can you please advise me the best way for me to bring money?

If you buy Turkish Lira abroad the rate you will get will be really poor so better not to buy any Turkish Lira as at the airport in Istanbul there are Banks and also there are banks around where you will stay to change money.
Also ATM's are available nearly every place where you will stay to get cash and credit cards are widely used in Turkey.
For travellers cheques sometimes you may need to pay commision(2-5 USD).
