I am planning on a trip to turkey during the ANZAC period and like the looks of the trips around this time that include the dawn service. has anyone gone on one of these particualr trips and do they have any comments. I dont wont to go on a trip where you are herded like cattle and on a bus 90% of the time. I have read the itinerary and the trip looks intersting but wanted some raw feedback from anyone that has been?
looking forward to any comments!
happy travelling!

Re: TURKEY
well, the galipolli peninsula is actually quite a large area and the main memorials are spread over quite a few sites so you will have to go by coach at least some of the time. However, most tour companies, especially those with aussie/nz connections, are very sensitive towards this and make a great effort to avoid the herded cattle feeling. The best way to avoid it though is to arrange a camp for several days in the main camp site, then you can familiarise yourself with the location and the excellent museum on site before the day itself.
