Hi, does anybody have any experience of obtaining a single entry Turkish visa in Turkey? Is it possible to get the visa at the airport on the Turkish side? (BTW I'm Irish and girlfriend is British national).
I don't have time to apply to the Embassy before the holiday and was wondering if this would be a problem.
Any help really appreciated. Thankyou!

Re: turkey visa

I have recently entered Turkey by rail at the Bulgarian border and I imagine that it would be as simple at the airport. I am Australian and contacted the Turkish Embassy in Sydney prior to travel. They recommended that I purchased the visa at the border because it is much more expensive to get beforehand (heaps of paperwork!). I used USD but there was a problem with a couple just before us. They were Australians but living in England so they tried paying with GBP and it wasn't accepted. I had to give them USD or they would have been left at the border. I don't know the reasoning behind this but it happened!
