Hey Jerry!

Thanks for your post and taking time to load all of those photographs. There are some excellent ones on there and it certainly looks like you saw an abundance of magnificient fauna. The photographs of the transport are also excellent for those wondering how you get around on this tour. How did you find the trucks Jerry? If you could tell us all a bit more that would be excellent.

All the best,

Robert

Re: Photos from my Kenyan Safari

Hi Robert

To answer your question about the truck, it was far more comfortable than expected. For those that don't know, the roads in Kenya are terrible! The truck has seating for 20, but with only ten of us on the tour we had space to spread out and relax, something we all appreciated on the long drives. As you can see from the photos, the truck is massive! All the camping equipment, luggage etc.. is stored in compartments along the sides and there are "luggage" racks above the seats for your day bag/ souvenirs etc... Whilst we did have a couple of problems with the truck itself, (flat battery and sheared centre spring bolt), the team always managed to repair/keep us running. The only real problems were when we got stuck in the mud, but again they just got out the shovels and had us going again in short order.

I can only speak in words of praise for all 3 of the team that travelled with us, Ali the tour guide, Steve the driver and Elizabeth the cook. All three were brilliant throughout all the trip. No matter what happened they would "carry on regardless" keeping us informed when we hit problems.

Elizabeth somehow managed to produce magnificent meals from just a campfire. Steve drove better than I have ever seen, keeping us going on roads and tracks I would have sworn were impassable for a jeep, never mind our truck. Ali our tour guide was an inspiration, always there with a smile when we were down happy to assist in anything, including rescue from the street sellers :-) and able to answer any question thrown at him, seemingly no matter how obscure.
