You don’t have to don hiking boots and backpack and trek for days to enjoy the delights of the Himalayas. We run a number of tours which are more culturally-based to still get you out into the mountains so you do not feel short-changed. Our Villages and Wildlife tour offers the best of Nepal in a limited time with tours of Kathmandu and the lakeside town of Pokhara, a visit to a local school, a safari in Chitwan and a short walk to an overnight stay in a remote village in the Annapurna foothills.
Royal Chitwan National Park is one of Asia’s richest national parks. It is located in the tropical lowland terai region between Pokhara and the Indian border. If it is not already included it can easily be added onto any tour – whether on the Annapurna side directly after your trek or after returning from the Everest side via Kathmandu. Hop on an elephant and spot the Royal Bengal Tiger and Great Indian Rhinoceros as well as elephant, antelope, monkey and a variety of exotic birds all with the backdrop of the mighty Himalayas.
Nepal offers an impressive variety of rivers to raft on with magnificent mountain surrounds, impressive landscapes and warm water temperatures in a semi-tropical climate. The most popular rivers are the Seti and Trisuli Rivers in between Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. Rafting trips are fun-filled affairs passing through stunning jungle scenery with plenty of small rapids and offering some excellent bird-watching opportunities whilst camping overnight on a beautiful sandy beach.
We offer some superb multi-country combinations so you can see as much of this part of the world as possible. While India and Nepal are a common pairing, our unusual Journey to India and the Himalaya adds the mystical kingdom of Bhutan to the mix. Or why not travel to the enigmatic land of Tibet from Kathmandu on our Tibet Overland?
