Nepal and India
Nepal and India, 19 days ex Kathmandu from £1,066 per person, flights ex London from £589 per person. Departures guaranteed!
Have you ever been amazed how two countries can be so different within moments of crossing their shared border? Nowhere does this seem more stark than the contrasts you'll experience in this 19 day quite luxurious adventure, which takes in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal as well as its giant southern neighbour, India.
In the former, you'll explore the medieval capital, Kathmandu by auto-rickshaw before exploring Chitwan National Park on elephant back in search of rhinos and tigers and visiting Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, spending the night in a charming jungle camp. The pilgrim packed streets of Varanasi, for Hindu's, the most spiritual city in India, is by contrast a riot of colour, smells, sights and humanity. As well as taking an early boat ride on the Ganges, other highlights you'll experience in northern India are visiting the Taj Mahal, the Amber Fort at Jaipur, Jodphur and Udaipur, also known as the 'Venice of the East'. For many, though, the favourite - and quite unique - part of this multi-cultural adventure are the visits to Tordi Garh and Nimaj Bagh, both rural villages which see very few tourists.
