Described by the Daily Mail as "a land of beauty, beasts and breathtaking sights", Belize could be an ideal destination for imaginative travellers. Located between Mexico and Guatemala, Belize is home to a vast array of wildlife, as well as pockets of rainforest and coral reefs.
Imaginative travellers looking for "idyllic" surroundings and authentic culture should head to the independent island of Kuna Yala in Panama, according to a travel journalist. Writing for the Times, Richard Holledge described Panama as a "surprising place" where a modern city of skyscrapers sits alongside empty rainforest. Arriving in Kuna Yala, Mr Holledge said: "Life has been carefully - and tenaciously - frozen in time."
A trip to the "Serbian Woodstock" Guca Festival will leave you feeling that a brass band "will never sound the same again", a travel writer has said. Describing the Baltic country in a piece for the Guardian, Garth Cartwright said: "Much beauty and magic is found here. And then there's the music." Mr Cartwright noted that the music in Serbia was what had kept him returning since his first ever visit and the traditional styles "are richer than those of anywhere else in Europe".

Imaginative travellers heading to Czech Republic this summer may wish to take in some culture at the 44th annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Previous years have seen famous faces such as Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley and Leonardo DiCaprio attend the event, Czech Tourism reported. It goes on to say that the event is the most important international film festival in central and eastern Europe and is the only category A festival to take place in the Czech Republic.

The island of Cres in the eastern European country is home to an eco centre in the middle of a 1,000 year old forest. The National Gallop will see a hundred horses and jockeys compete for a €200,000 (£173,000) prize in Budapest's main historical square. According to events guide website WhatsOnWhen, more than 300,000 spectators attend this annual event, watching the horses race around the grandstands in the Gallop Arena.

British travellers could make significant savings on their travel spending by using a pre-paid currency card, a foreign exchange provider has advised. According to the latest report from FairFX, travellers are not acting prudently when it comes to their holiday money. Some 69 per cent of Brits said that "every penny counts" when looking to exchange their pounds but then do not use the cheapest way to spend, it revealed.
