Voted one of the world's weirdest celebrations by a newspaper, the Boryeong Mud festival offers a unique experience for travellers to South Korea.
This year's event will take place between July 11th and 19th and, according to the Telegraph, now draws in a crowd of more than a million visitors.
Daecheon Beach is filled with truckloads of the mud - which is said to be rich in minerals - and locals and tourists get stuck in to the celebrations.
Many events and competitions are held such as a mud king contest, mud sliding, mud wrestling, a photography competition and even a mud fantasy fireworks display.
The event organisers claim it is one of the biggest festivals in South Korea and this year will be its 11th anniversary.
Once cleaned off in the evening, people can swim in the sea, get involved in the games or relax on the beach and enjoy the entertainment.
