Holidays to Goa are popular with imaginative travellers who want to escape poor weather and go somewhere a bit different. Writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, Michael Gebicki said April is a good time to go on holidays to India as beaches and cafes will be less crowded and accommodation prices will be lower. Goa is an ideal destination for a midwinter break and has a number of different areas that could prove ideal depending on people's interests. Mr Gebicki noted Anjuna, "Goa's original hippie haven", is quieter than the busier main resort of Calangute-Baga.
History-loving travellers could soon get to see an area of one of Italy's most famous arenas that was previously closed to the public. Rome culture officials have announced that tourists will soon be able to gain access to areas beneath the Colosseum, the Associated Press reports. They will be granted entry to the underground chambers where gladiators prepared for combat and lions and tigers were caged before shows. It is due to open in late summer after a number of months of work have gone into making the attraction safe for crowds.
Adventure explorers should not run out of things to do when visiting Brisbane in Australia. According to Daily Telegraph reporter Mark Chipperfield, the city has transformed itself in recent times to become a "fast-paced metropolis" that is full of "young, creative types". Temperatures in the region are often very high but the inhabitants remain very active regardless, the journalist noted.
