Imaginative explorers who are heading to Australia's Northern Territory for an adventure holiday may get inspiration for activities in the destination from an application for the Apple iPhone.
Travellers who own the gadget can now download the free program - called OutbackNT - which offers users interactive maps, images and information and gives people the chance to choose where to eat, view upcoming events or plan itineraries.
Commenting on the technology, George Christakis, sales and marketing manager at Tourism NT for UK, Ireland, Netherlands and Nordic, said: "Using one comprehensive source at your convenience on your mobile, explore the vibrant tropical city of Darwin, World-Heritage listed national parks like Kakadu and famous outback towns like Alice Springs."
He added that it is designed to help visitors get the best out of their trip to the territory.
Travellers to the region may be interested in heading to Kakadu National Park - Australia's largest national park - which contains famous aboriginal rock art sites such as Nourlangie Rock and Ubirr.
