Brits 'taking activity and cultural breaks'

Thursday, December 24, 2009

British imaginative travellers save up throughout the year to ensure that they can take a foreign trip and reward themselves for their hard work.

This is according to industry expert from travelsupermarket Bob Atkinson, who said that a holiday is seen as one of the "main highlights" of people's years.

"It gives us the opportunity to rest, relax, party or indulge in our interests, with more and more of us taking activity breaks, whether they are cultural, sporty or family-orientated," he continued.

He added that some people will plan one big holiday while others will save up for several trips each year.

Adventure holidays, cultural breaks and travel where a new skill is learnt have all become more popular according to CV Travel.

This is because imaginative travellers seek fulfilment on a break, it added.

Egypt, Morocco and Turkey have all experienced an increase in the number of visitors who plan to head there from the UK, it found.
