Imaginative travellers hoping to whisk their mums away for a Mother's Day treat have been encouraged to visit to Tunisia.
According to the country's official tourism office, the nation is perfect for children who want to do something special for their mother.
The organisation said that a city break to Tunis could be particularly appealing to Britons, as it is just two-and-a-half hours away by plane, offers a favourable exchange rate from the pound and is great for bargain-hunting mums.
"Filled with lavish gifts and exquisite handmade souvenirs, indulge her vanity with a multitude of exotic specialities, ranging from exquisite fabrics to antique silver jewellery," it stated.
The body went on to suggest going for a spa treatment for some relaxation once the bout of retail therapy is over.
Mother's Day takes place on March 14th, which could be a perfect time to visit Tunisia as Lonely Planet says that the country is warm - but not too warm - in the middle of March.
