Adventure trips could be set for a surge in popularity in 2010, according to predictions on the years ahead by Gap Adventures. The company recently revealed its top ten tips for travel over the next 20 years and stated that it expects people to increasingly embark on once-in-a-lifetime journeys to spectacular places they have always wanted to see. It said: "This can be anything from visiting that lifetime dream destination or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to learning to cook in South America or even rehabilitating wild animals."
Imaginative travellers with an interest in marine life may wish to try their hand at diving in Egypt, according to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). Alison Dando, marketing and membership manager at the organisation, commented that holidaymakers departing from the UK will find diving destinations in the Red Sea particularly appealing as the destination is just a few hours away by plane.
Imaginative travellers who are sick of the British weather and want to head on a trip where sun is guaranteed have been given some tips by Skyscanner on some of the driest destinations in the world. According to the travel company, explorers could visit Swakopmund in Namibia, where they can try their hand at dune boarding - Africa's answer to snowboarding. Speeds of up to 70km/h could be reached as people fly down the giant sand hills, which could be perfect for those looking for an exciting adventure holiday.
