Imaginative travellers have been told that there are a number of great destinations they can head to when getting away for an adventure holiday.
STA Travel recently revealed that two-week adventure travel is set to be the trend for 2010 after it saw an increase in bookings for this type of holiday over the last few months.
Commenting on the announcement, John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures, said that a fortnight is "plenty of time" to explore any country.
He added that Costa Rica might be a perfect destination for adrenaline junkies.
"They [can] go white water rafting, biking, and horse riding and can even try walking on the hanging bridges at the foot of an active volcano or whizzing down a canopy zip line," he said.
In addition, he explained that nature lovers should head to the Andes, Amazon or Galapagos Islands, while those hoping for a more challenging holiday experience could try hiking up Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro before going on safari.
