A trip to Mexico could be ideal for imaginative travellers who want to get away this year, following figures released by the International Currency Exchange (Ice).
The organisation revealed yesterday (February 15th) orders for the Mexican peso leapt by 63 per cent last month, with increasing numbers of people heading to the destination for a winter sun trip.
In addition, Brits exchanged the pound for the New Zealand dollar in their droves in January, the firm found.
Koko Sarkari, global head of the company, said: "With an economy barely in recovery and one of the coldest starts we've had to the year you couldn't get further away from the doom and gloom than New Zealand."
Furthermore, the Thai baht, Australian dollar and Singapore dollar were also extremely popular, the statistics showed.
Ice was founded in 1974 and today boasts more than 300 branches and operations in 65 different airports around the world.
