Imaginative travellers hoping to head out on a trip in the near future but are worried about the effect it will have on their bank balance could take inspiration from the Daily Mail's TravelMail section.
Writer Martin Symington gave a number of tips on the destinations that could offer the best value for money in 2010.
He suggested that Mexico is an ideal location for a holiday in the coming months, with plenty of cheap deals available to take advantage of and Playacar, Playa del Carmen, the ancient Mayan pyramids, and Xcaret eco-park all must-see highlights.
In addition, he explained that Mozambique could be perfect for wildlife lovers who are looking to go on safari without burning a hole in their pockets. Mr Symington advised heading to the Gorongosa National Park before visiting the Bazaruto islands.
Shanghai was also sounded out as a potentially cheap holiday option for travellers, who were recently encouraged by Lonely Planet to go to the World Expo running from May 1st to October 31st when in the Chinese city.
