
Environmentally-minded travellers might want to head to Cambodia in the near future as plans have been made for Asia's first eco-resort to be constructed there.
Design and engineering consultancy Scott Wilson has carried out an environmental survey of the island Koh Rong.
The evaluation and social impact analysis was conducted at the request of the Royal Group of Cambodia.
It is hoped the action could lay the groundwork for the resort's future green expansion plans.
Koh Rong is 80 sq km in area and is being heralded as the "next Asian Riviera", alongside Koh Samui, Bali and Phuket.
It can be reached via a 30-minute boat journey from the Sihanoukville and has a population of 1,500.
