Fishing fans need look no further than a holiday in Finland this September, for the chance to take part in a Finnish Crayfish Party.
Taking place from September 2nd to 6th, travellers can take part in a session of fishing followed by a trip to a smoked sauna.
Local experts can smoke your catch while you relax in the Tampere region of the country.
According to Visit Finland, the crayfish parties take place annually and "are the culinary highlight of the year for many Finns".
Set between two lakes, Tampere offers visitors the chance to take in some art and culture such as sculptures by Emil Wikstrom at the Visavuori or some unusual exhibits at the Spy Museum - Vakoilumuseo.
Imaginative travellers can also indulge in a cruise on Lake Pyhajarvi or take in a concert at the Pyynikki open-air theatre.
Capital of Finland's western lake district, Tampere has 20,000 lakes set within its city limits, ripe for exploration.
