British imaginative travellers see a trip to a remote island as their idea of a paradise holiday.
This is according to the results of a new survey from American Express Travellers Cheques, which found that the top holiday must-have was peace and quiet.
Some 33 per cent of imaginative explorers said that avoiding other tourists was the key to a perfect trip and 13 per cent said that no phone or internet reception would lead to an ideal break.
For 19 per cent of Brits, adventure travel was the most important factor.
"The idea of a paradise can mean different things to different people," explained Mathew Lane, director at the organisation.
South Africa was named as a perfect destination for a family adventure holiday in an article by Skyscanner.
Choosing a safari lodge that caters especially for children can give them a more suitable experience with activities on offer such as bush survival techniques and wildlife tracking.
