Imaginative travellers looking for an adventure holiday in a sunny part of the world this winter may wish to consider Mexico.
Commenting on behalf of the country, the Mexico Tourism Board UK and Europe director Manuel Diaz Cebrian claimed that the nation's winter attraction centres "primarily on our climate".
Most other European destinations are unable to provide visitors with guaranteed good weather, he explained.
But it would seem that it is not just the climate that offers imaginative travellers a reason to head to Mexico.
"We have an enviable and varied coastline - much of which remains unspoilt and is 'authentic' Mexico," Mr Cebrian remarked.
The capital of the Central American country, Mexico City, was recently listed as one of the destinations where British travellers can pay for the best hotel rooms for £100.
Hotels.com said that Mexico City was in the top five world cities, along with Lisbon, Marrakech, Melbourne and Pisa, where accommodation money will go the furthest.
