Travellers taking Thailand holidays in November will have the chance to see the Loi Krathong Sai Festival.
Between November 1st and 2nd, people gather on the banks of the Ping River in Tak to experience a real taste of Thailand.
Imaginative travellers may want to add this event to their schedule as they will be able to watch a unique contest.
Over the course of the two days, floating coconut shell constructions head down the river - with the owners of the best float rewarded with the king's trophy.
According to the Tourism Thailand website, there are a number of other "remarkable activities" that take place during the festival.
Visitors will be able to witness the floating lanterns of the royal family, the procession of the Royal Krathong and lantern and the illumination of Krathong Sai.
Fireworks, local cultural shows and good food will also be in abundance.
Once the festivities are over, adventure holiday fans may wish to take their own boat trips down the Ping River to see what the region has to offer the discerning traveller.
