India 'could be ideal' for honeymooners

Friday, April 23, 2010

India could be a perfect place for honeymooners to celebrate their new bond as a travel website has recommended a number of destinations in the country that are ideal for such a getaway.

Suite101 has identified the nation as having all the necessary ingredients to make these types of holidays memorable.

Couples can stay in a houseboat in Kerala, which the portal describes as one of India's most beautiful regions, as they sleep beneath the stars while the boat meanders along the backwater.

Those looking for something in-land could stay at a converted palace in Rajashthan, such as the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, where the rooms are "decorated lavishly".

Other options include booking at a luxury resort in Goa, sleeping in a jungle tree house in Kerala and floating in a houseboat in Kashmir.

It was recently reported that British couple Matt Field and Kim Bachler plan to motorcycle around the globe, with India being one of the stops that they are most looking forward to.
