'Something for everyone' on adventure holidays to Croatia

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Imaginative travellers who are looking for inspiration on where to go to for their next action holiday have been told that a Europe tour to Dubrovnik, Croatia could be ideal.

According to Meri Matesic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Office for London, the destination might be perfect for keen hikers eager to explore the spectacular landscape in the area.

Offering ideas on things to do while staying in the city, she advised: "[You could] climb Mount Srd, which is 430 metres high with stunning views of the city of Dubrovnik and the region."

In addition, Ms Matesic suggested heading to the Peljesac peninsula and discovering the ancient olive groves and vineyards found nearby, while seafarers may want to take a boat excursion to the Elaphite Islands.

Lonely Planet states people heading to Croatia should also visit the "watery wonderland" of Plitvice Lakes National Park, where they can find lakes and cascades.
