The period from now until October is one of the best times to take a trip to Peru, according to the country's tourist board.
With some 3,000 festivals celebrated in the South American country each year, "some of the most flamboyant and diverse festivals that Peru has to offer" take place over the next four months.
"Now is definitely the time to grab a last minute trip [to Peru]", it added.

On June 30th, the town will host the Adventure Festival, which will incorporate many adrenaline-packed sports from hand gliding and mountain biking to skiing and rafting.
For Imaginative travellers looking for something a little calmer but brimming with culture, the Virgen del Carmen Festival in Paucartambo may be more their scene.
From July 15th to 16th, the typical Peruvian streets of the Cucso Region will see vibrant processions passing through in celebration of the Virgin of El Carmen.
Cusco is a region located on top of Inca foundations, with the citadel of Machu Picchu nearby.
